What have I been doing on the mini vacation?

Martha and I have been riding in this beautiful Fall weather. It reminds me of when we first met and used to ride almost every weekend. Martha's bike is very loud and it is fun to be a passenger on. I like my Ninja and it is not as loud because it does not have a fart pipe like hers.

Wow maybe we will be home for Christmas!!!

Things are really moving along all the drywall is up and the stucco is done on the outside as well. We are very excited to see our home progressing so far ahead of schedule. Next the texture will be applied and then paint, appliances, counters, cabinets! Hurry up we want to move in tomorrow...LOL

Martha and I tackled the 5K Breast Cancer Walk

It was an overcast morning as we arrived to the Sarasota Polo Grounds for the Breast Cancer walk. Neither Martha or myself have exercised at all for a while...the trek was pretty ferocious but what kept us going was thinking of those who were not able to walk. We also wanted to fulfill our commitment and thanks to family and friends I was able to collect donations for a total of $100.00 to the cause. Webster Counselors For A Cure is our team and I am not sure what the cumalitive donations were...though I will say that thousands of people were at the walk Saturday morning. Remember that breast cancer not only affects women there are men that get it as well. The research that will continue will assist in finding the cure someday...thanks for taking the time to read this post and thanks to those of you who donated!

The Bucs Win Two In A Row

Martha was on the edge of her seat as she screamed at the television...being a hardcore Bucs fan for 10 years. The score was the Eagles 21 and the Bucs 20...with only seconds to spare..."what happened next was amazing and so unexpected" Martha said. Both teams played a great game but in the end Bryant brought most fans to tears in a good way.

Matt Bryant nailed one of the most impressive field goals in NFL history, a 62-yard game-winner at the buzzer, to give the Bucs a wildly improbable 23-21 victory!

It didn’t seem possible, but somehow Matt Bryant found a way to trump Ronde Barber’s two-touchdown, déjà vu performance. What did Bryant do? Only nail one of the most stunning field goals in NFL history, a 62-yard game-winner to provide the final points at the end of regulation in a 23-21 Tampa Bay Buccaneers win over the visiting Philadelphia Eagles. It was the second-longest game-winning field goal ever in the NFL, trailing only Tom Dempsey’s historic 63-yarder for New Orleans against Detroit on November 8, 1970.
“It was a very exciting, thrilling victory,” said Head Coach Jon Gruden. “I’m very proud of our football team. “Obviously Matt Bryant gets own room when we go on road now, and anything else he wants. “That’s one of most dramatic finishes to a football game any of us will ever see. To beat a team like Philadelphia is an amazing accomplishment, I don’t care what the statistics say. To beat two of the best teams in football in two straight weeks is quite an accomplishment.” Bryant’s desperation attempt completed a 20-yard, 33-second drive that also trumped Brian Westbrook’s apparent game-winner seconds earlier, a 52-yard catch and run on which he broke at least three tackles.
And what did Barber do to set the bar so high? Only become the first player in Buccaneer history to return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same regular-season contest, a feat that helped the Bucs build a 17-0 lead 10 minutes into the second half. Barber’s performance was eerily familiar, particularly his first touchdown. Donovan McNabb, short pass left. Barber, perfect read and sudden cut. Open field to the end zone. Six.

Welcome Home Pina (pronounced like Pina Colada)

Well one day Martha made the mistake of mentioning wanting to get a bird when we move into our new Castle to keep Petey company...LOL. So the way that I am I started browsing the Bradenton Herald Online and what a deal I found. There was Pina and his brother Robin. Well my brother in law Roger just moved into a new place and used to breed these buggers. So one (Robin) went to him as a house warming present. The other cockatiel Pina came to live with us. He is very friendly, says things, and dances, he is about 8 years old. Roger's bird is younger. I hope you enjoy the first pictures we took...oh if you wonder who's shoulder he is on it is Anthony's...Ha ha We love you Pina welcome to our home...comments anyone?

Denzel Washington and Brooks Army Medical Center

I don't know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in San Antonio,Texas (BAMC) the other day. This is where soldiers who have been evacuated fromGermany come to be hospitalized in the UnitedStates, especially burn victims. There are some buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled most of the time. While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to build. He took his checkbook out and wrote a check for the full amount right thereon the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and wanted to get the word out to the American public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it. The question I have is why does: Alec Baldwin, Madonna, Sean Penn and other Hollywood types make front page news with their anti-everything America trash and Denzel Washington's Patriotism doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San Antonio?

Finally major score! Fishing trip in Boca Grande...

I would like to thank Sharon for letting us know about this killer spot!!!!!! Shouts out to JJ, Chad, Carly, Dwayne, & Madison. It was a beautiful full moon last night when the snapper and reds started to bite. It felt like I was on one of those sports television fishing shows as we reeled in one after another. These are the eating fish we kept and we also caught other junk fish like sailcat and some whiting. The lousy part was getting stuck at the BP Barracuda Bills until about 4am since something was wrong with the suburban, no thanks to AAA...a security officer fixed the problem and we got home around 6am...what a TRIP, was it worth it? Hmmm let me think, Heck Yeah!!!!!!!!

My New Ride

Well what do you think? Just kidding we were driving down the road and a neighbor drives this monster...I had to post it here. What do you think? Any comments? Would you drive that?
